Blur the background of a photo
Like the portrait mode on expensive phones: the AI separates the person from the background and blurs it so all eyes go to you.
How to use it
- Choose a photo with a person in it.
- Wait a few seconds while the AI separates the person; the first time, it’s downloaded.
- Check the result and tap “Create image” to download it.
Works best with people
We use MODNet, a model trained to cut out people. Portraits and full-body photos come out very well; pets or objects may not.
Questions and answers
Can I use a different background?
Yes: under “Background” you can keep it blurred or switch to white, black, a color or transparent. To remove it entirely, use remove background.
Why is it slower the first time?
Your browser downloads the AI (about 12 MB). After that it’s kept and the next photos are quick.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
