Remove metadata and location from a photo

If you sell things online, send photos to strangers or post pictures of your home, your photos can reveal where you live. Here you wipe that data in one step and the photo stays the same.

How to use it

  1. Choose one or more photos.
  2. We tell you what data each one had.
  3. Download the clean photos.

No quality lost

In JPG and PNG we remove only the data blocks and leave the image as it is, without recompressing it. Rotated photos, HEIC and WebP are re-saved upright. To see what data a photo has first, use view metadata.

Questions and answers

What data is removed?

EXIF (GPS location, date, camera, settings), XMP, IPTC and comments. We keep the color profile so the colors don’t change.

Does anything change in the photo?

No. It looks exactly the same.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
