Biometric photo for Türkiye
Türkiye uses a larger biometric photo than most countries: 50 × 60 mm with a white background. It is required for visas, the residence permit (ikamet) and Turkish documents. Make it here and download the digital file and a print sheet.
Drag the photo and zoom: the top of the head goes on the upper line, the chin on the lower one and the face inside the oval.

Requirements
A 50 × 60 mm color biometric photo with a plain white background, the whole face visible and no hair covering it, head straight, neutral expression and lips closed. Damaged, wrinkled or folded photos are not accepted. The consulate notes that the US 2 × 2 in size is also accepted. Source: Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Residence permit (ikamet)
Ikamet applications are made on the e-ikamet portal of the Presidency of Migration Management, where the photo is uploaded as a JPG, and printed copies are handed in at the appointment. Universities often ask for several recent biometric photos: the 4 × 6 in sheet holds several to cut out.
Common mistakes
Using a 35 × 45 mm photo from another application, a grey or shadowed background, and photos older than six months. If the portal rejects the file for its size, shrink it with compress to 500 KB.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer: your photos don’t leave your device. The only exceptions are “Put the suit on me” and “Restore photo”, which send a reduced copy of your photo to our server only to create the image, and don’t store it.
