Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No. PNG stores the image without losing any more quality, but it can’t bring back what the JPG lost when it was compressed. PNG files are also usually bigger.
Questions and answers
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. This tool only changes the format; the background stays as it is in your photo.
Why is the PNG bigger than the JPG?
Because PNG compresses without loss: it keeps every pixel exactly as it is. Two or three times bigger is normal.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
