No. 07 — Reduce file size

Compress an image to 100 KB

Many job portals, university applications and government forms ask for photos or scanned documents of 100 KB or less. Get yours ready here with the best possible quality.

How to use it

  1. Choose your photo (or several).
  2. Leave 100 in “Max file size (KB)” or change the number.
  3. Download the reduced photo.

How we get to 100 KB

We try different compression levels and keep the best-looking one that weighs 100 KB or less. If your photo is very large, we also scale it down a little so it stays sharp.

If exact dimensions are required too

First use resize image to set the required pixels, then reduce the file size here.

Questions and answers

Can I pick a different size?

Yes. Change the number in “Max file size (KB)” and the photo is recalculated right away.

Does it work for scanned documents?

Yes, if the document is an image (JPG, PNG or a phone photo). If a PDF is required, reduce it here and then use JPG to PDF.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
