Make a jigsaw puzzle from your photo

A puzzle made from a family photo, your pet or your business logo is a gift, a keepsake or a party game. Pick the photo and the number of pieces: the cut lines draw themselves, with classic knobs or straight pieces, and you download a PDF ready to print and cut.

How to use it

  1. Choose a sharp, well-lit photo.
  2. Tap the number of “Pieces” and the “Piece shape” (classic, varied or straight); “Another piece design” reshuffles the knobs.
  3. Pick the line color and thickness and the “Page” (A4, Letter or A3).
  4. Tap “Create PDF”, print it at 100% and cut along the lines.

How to print it so it lasts

Print on heavy photo paper or card stock at 100% (no “fit to page”). For a sturdy puzzle, glue the sheet onto thin cardboard with a glue stick, let it dry under something heavy and only then cut. You can also print on sticker paper and press it onto cardboard. A copy shop can print it on 300 gsm card or heavier.

How many pieces to choose

For toddlers, 6 to 12 straight pieces; for children aged 5 to 8, 24 to 48; for adults, 70 to 200. On an A4 sheet, 100 pieces come out at about 2.5 cm (1 in) and 200 at under 2 cm: the more pieces, the harder they are to cut by hand. For lots of pieces, use A3. Under the options you can see how big each piece will be.

Ideas for gifts and businesses

A puzzle with your logo or a product photo as a gift for customers, with a birthday or baby shower invitation (guests piece the message together), or with a couple photo for a proposal. The extra page with the guide picture works as the box cover, and “Number the pieces” makes it easier for kids.

Questions and answers

Are all the pieces different?

Yes. Each knob points to a random side and has a slightly different shape, just like a real jigsaw. With the “Varied” shape the pieces also come in different sizes with slanted edges, so no two look alike. If you don’t like the cut, tap “Another piece design” until you find one you like.

What should I cut the pieces with?

Scissors are fine for a few large or straight pieces. For classic knobs on cardboard, a craft knife on a cutting mat gives cleaner curves. Cut the strips first, then each piece.

Can I print it at another size?

Yes. Besides the PDF you get the puzzle picture as a JPG, which a print shop can print at any size you like, for example 30 × 40 cm.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
